What is a Ventrilo Server?
Ventrilo relies on the client-server model which requires two components, the server and the client. The server acts as a relay – it relays all of the data (e.g. voice audio) sent from one client to the rest of the clients. A client is a Ventrilo program running on the end-user PC (such as yours). With this model, much less bandwidth is used on your side instead of other programs which rely on the Peer-to-peer model which use more bandwidth. This is where My Ventrilo Server comes in, we provide the servers in world class data centers with very high bandwidth allocations (many of our servers can transfer data at up to 1gbps).
